‘Marsh King’s Daughter’ in Theaters this November

Based on the book by Karen Dionne, Marsh King’s Daughter is the story of Helena, a woman who grows up living in the woods with her mom and dad unaware that her mom has been kidnapped and held hostage there. She grows up revering her dad who teaches her how to hunt and to “protect her family” above all else. When her mother sees an opportunity to escape, she brings Helena with her. But Helena has never seen the real world before and she doesn’t understand the danger her father poses. As an adult, we see Helena married and living with her own young daughter when he father escapes from prison and begins leaving signs around her home.

We had the pleasure of meeting the author, Karen Dione, in New York City this past summer at Thrillerfest. Her feminist story has touched millions of lives with not only her book, but now also the movie. We saw this one in theaters and it was worth it.
