The only corner of the internet dedicated exclusively to feminist thrillers.

Feminist thrillers are not only entertaining, they speak to the female experience on a gritty level. They share truths that we live every day but don’t often get to express, especially not to this depth. This is just one of the reasons why we’re passionate about these stories.

The Problem We Love to Solve 🔍

The book and film market is oversaturated with options. If you’ve ever found yourself completely overwhelmed with Book Club picks or endlessly scrolling Netflix trying to figure out what to watch tonight, then you know what we mean. When you receive our recommendations, you’ll have a book, movie, or show that you’re excited to dive into.

Similarly, many storytellers struggle with getting their work in front of the right consumers. We aim to offer a resource for artists who want to share their work with the right audience. We consider ourselves tastemakers, and we hope you’ll fall in love with the books and films we recommend as much as we have.

Our Taste

  • We enjoy books that are more literary than commercial, but we love a blend of both. Literary fiction tends to have considerable artistic merit.

  • We love to feel anxious, excited, and uncertain about what may happen next in the narrative. Keeps us on the edge of our seats.

  • Who doesn’t love a perfectly-rendered character examination? Ok, maybe we are nerds. But we LOVE stories.

Our Values

01/

Belonging

Stories foster empathy, connection, and belonging. The more we see ourselves and our shared experiences in narratives, the more whole and integrated we feel within society.

02/

Depth

Whether it’s intellectual or emotional, we seek depth in the stories we recommend. Surface-level stories that are only driven by plot can happen somewhere else.

03/

Craft

We celebrate writers who are experts at their craft and, as a result, deliver powerhouse stories that we have to tell our friends about.

Meet the Founder

Hey, I’m Kasia, a novelist and entrepreneur who is passionate about storytelling. Over the last decade, I’ve noticed a trend in the market that I couldn’t unsee if I tried. It started in 2014 when Gone Girl came out in theaters, then Girl on the Train in 2016. I remember being completely enthralled with the feminist angle of these books and films.

Then Reese Witherspoon produced Big Little Lies, and Little Fires Everywhere. Fans like me devoured these stories and wanted more.

Despite these mega hits, we still don’t have a great way of labeling the genre. That’s when I started calling them “feminist thrillers,” and I’m not the first to do so. Thanks to Crime Reads, Book Riot, and Goodreads, there are many media companies referring to these stories as feminist thrillers. However, the term “feminist thriller” is not widely used among consumers, and there is no platform dedicated exclusively to getting these types of stories into the hands of more readers and viewers.

As the writer of a forthcoming feminist thriller, I’m excited to create a home for like-minded fans who are as captivated by these stories as I am. If that’s you, I hope you’ll join me here at Feminist Thriller Club.
